Douglas County Government Names Anthony Q. Choice as New Procurement Director
(Douglasville, GA) – Douglas County Government has announced the appointment of Procurement Deputy Director, Anthony Q. Choice as its new Procurement Director. The announcement was made during the Board of Commissioners Committee Meeting on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. Choice will officially assume his new role on January 4, 2025.
The Procurement and Purchasing Department is tasked with ensuring the effective, lawful, and ethical procurement of goods and services for Douglas County. Its responsibilities include acquiring materials, supplies, equipment, and services for county departments and agencies, establishing and administering purchasing policies, and identifying strategies to achieve cost savings while coordinating efficient purchasing procedures.
Anthony Q. Choice brings over 30 years of experience in procurement to his new position. Since joining Douglas County Government in June 2024, Choice has exhibited exceptional leadership and dedication. His extensive career includes 24 years as a Procurement Administrator for a local municipality and five years as Manager of Procurement & Fleet Services. His notable accomplishments include:
- GDOT Certification in Engineering & Design Procurement Policy & Procedure
- Graduate of Leadership Thomas Class 40, 2024
- Expertise in managing and maintaining RFPs through NIGP standards
- Membership in NIGP’s Governmental Procurement Association of Georgia
