Douglas County to Join Operation Green Light for Veterans
The Douglas County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted on October 18, 2022, to proclaim November 1, 2022, through November 11, 2022, as Operation Green Light for Veterans, a time to honor men and women who have paid the unmeasurable price to protect our freedoms as well as recognize the potential challenges they face in transitioning to civilian life.
During this timeframe, The National Association of Counties encourages all counties to recognize Operation Green Light for Veterans. The Douglas County courthouse will illuminate green each night beginning November 7 and until November 13. Citizens are encouraged to participate by displaying a green light in the window of their homes and businesses. More details to follow as we implement Operation Green Light beginning November 1.
