Estate Records

The Probate Court office in the Douglas County Courthouse maintains estate files back to the late 1800s. Name indexes to facilitate retrieval. The public may access such records from 8am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Estate Filings

The Estates Division recommends submitting filings by mail. If you are unable to, our office will accept filing in person. Petitions to Probate Estates may be filed between 8am and 4:15pm. Late filings may be accepted, but will be processed the following business day.

Mail in Petitions

  • All pleadings filed with the Douglas County Probate Court by mail must be signed, verified, and have the appropriate filing fees. Pleadings without fees will be returned without filing.
    • Mail all pleadings to:      Douglas County Probate Court
